Business Traveller - Lignée Hotels opens first London property
In its article "Lignée Hotels opens first London property", Business Traveller presents the Grand Hotel Bellevue London.
French group Lignée Hotels has opened its first UK property, located close to London’s Paddington station.
Grand Hotel Bellevue is housed with a Victorian townhouse facing Norfolk Square which was previously home to Chrysos Hotel.
The five-floor property is located just a few minutes’ walk from Paddington station, with links to the Heathrow Express, Elizabeth Line and GWR rail services.
Interiors of the 60-room hotel have been designed by Paris-based architect Fabrizio Casiraghi, and have been imagined as “the London residence of an eclectic couple”.
According to the press release:
“An aristocratic Englishman and his eccentric, globetrotting wife take over the home, which they decorate by merging their taste and aesthetics throughout. A sophisticated use of lacquered dark wood and traditional decorative elements nod to the more classic side of the design, while bold colour choices and quirky details represent the stronger creative identity of the other half.”
Room choices include the smallest Cabin Rooms – which have been inspired by boat cabins – and Classic Rooms on the upper floors with high ceilings and vintage-inspired wooden wardrobes.
Facilities include the 24-hours NOHrD Fitness Studio, and the ground floor Pondicherry Bar which has been inspired by British connections to India and features tapestries designed by Emily Bode including “elephants and tigers as well as men dressed in traditional garb”.
Rates start from £200 (room only). Grand Hotel Bellevue join existing Lignée properties including La Maison Favart and Le Narcisse Blanc hotel and spa in Paris, Chateau Soucherie in Angers and Yndo Hotel in Bordeaux.
